about ma
Not emptiness,
but the space
in between
MA is a ceramic collection born from attention to the subtle - the pause between sounds, the silence between words, the light between shadows.
We work slowly, with respect to material, texture and time, bringing this feeling into everyday spaces.

ABOUT ARTIST
ALENA
ZHAVARANKAVA
In my constant search for inspiration, silence, and inner stillness, I often found myself retreating into the forest.
Walking slowly among the trees, I could spend hours observing the beauty of their forms, the diversity of bark textures, the rhythm of their lines, and the traces that time leaves upon their surfaces. These walks became something greater than simple admiration of nature.
They became moments of pause — moments in which the noise of everyday life faded away, allowing space to truly see, feel, and breathe. It was there that I felt a deep connection with the Japanese philosophy of MA.
